Narrative medicine is a medical approach that recognizes the value of people’s narratives in clinical practice, research and education.
It’s a passion of mine that developed serendipitously, simply because of a chance encounter with a mentor during medical school for whom I wrote once, and from there I was hooked. (http://drrozkaplan.wordpress.com/about/)
As I wrote, I began to realize that for me it was catharsis from the ‘wounds’ of practicing medicine- the psychic toll that caring for people takes. So, I wrote a lot- and slowly some of it approached a level that it could be published and shared with the outside world.
